Alyssa Mazzarella helps ensure GrubStreet, one of the nation's leading creative writing centers, has the resources it needs to support writers of all types and talents. Prior to joining GrubStreet as the Development Manager, she taught and tutored writing at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing for poetry. She also previously served as the Development Associate at Bottom Line, a local non-profit that helps low-income and first-generation students graduate from college. As a poet, Alyssa is the recipient of an Academy of American Poets Prize and was a semifinalist for a Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center Writing Fellowship in 2015. She has taught at Baystate Correctional Center, holds a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College, and has had poems appear in apt, The Briar Cliff Review, Common Ground Review, and Freshwater.
