Marjorie Thomsen

Marjorie Thomsen’s poems are inspired from the landscapes of North Carolina and Virginia where she grew up and from New England, where she currently lives. She is the author of “Pretty Things Please” which was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She won the New England Poetry Club’s Firman Houghton Award and received a first-place poetry honor from The University of Iowa School of Social Work. Most recently, her poems have won Anna Davidson Rosenberg awards. Marjorie earned degrees from Simmons College and The Catholic University of America’s School of Social Work. She serves on the Board of the New England Poetry Club and lives in Cambridge with her husband and three teenagers.
