David Young is the author of eleven books of poetry, most recently Field of Light and Shadow (Knopf, 2010). His memoir/cookbook is Seasoning (Ohio State. 200), with chapters and recipes for each month of the year. He is also known for his writings on Shakespeare and his translations of poets as diverse as Rilke, Du Fu, Petrarch, and Miroslav Holub. For almost fifty years he has helped edit FIELD, a twice-yearly journal of contemporary poetry and poets.
